The test unit I received came in a sleek blue colorway, instantly grabbing my attention. However, the GK3 is also available in more subdued black, silver, and blue variants.

Weighing just 52g, the Caliburn GK3 oozes portability. Its plastic construction feels reassuringly robust despite the lightweight design. Soft rounded edges add an extra layer of refinement.

Design and Build Quality

In terms of form factor, the GK3 represents a fusion between classic Caliburn pen shapes and the signature square styling of UWell’s KoKo line. Slim yet grippy ABS plastic comprises the chassis, accented by smooth polycarbonate side panels.

A segmented LCD display occupies the front face, enabling always-on power monitoring without draining the battery. According to UWell, the screen uses only 1% of the energy required by standard color displays. Backlighting activates on demand via the side-mounted control button.

The button also controls the standard array of vaping functions:

Five clicks to turn the device on/off.
Three clicks to adjust wattage.
Four clicks to reset the puff counter.

Each button press triggers haptic feedback for a more responsive user experience.

On the base, a high-capacity 900mAh battery charges rapidly through the USB-C port. During testing, I recorded charge speeds exceeding 1.3A and a full recharge time of around 55 minutes.

Pods and Coils

The GK3 utilizes UWell’s latest Caliburn G3 pods, which feature 2.5ml ejuice capacity and a durable ultrasonically welded construction. Each pod clearly marks the ideal wattage range and comes pre-installed with either a 0.6ohm or 0.9ohm FeCrAl mesh coil.

Both coils provide outstanding flavor that stands with the best pod systems I’ve ever vaped. The 0.6ohm mesh strip caters to a loose modern MTL draw, while the 0.9ohm option offers tighter restriction. Simply flip the pod to access one of two built-in airflow settings.

During testing, I preferred the looser draw on the 0.6ohm pod and tighter setting on the 0.9ohm one. But the flexibility to fine-tune both pods to exact preference proved invaluable.

Refilling the pods is a mess-free affair courtesy of the generous side-mounted fill port. Leakproof ultrasonic welding also prevents any ejuice seepage. From airflow to longevity and flavor, the new G3 pods deliver vaping nirvana.

Performance and Experience

In use, the Caliburn GK3 blends robust performance with intuitive operation. The instant firing auto draw functionality never missed a beat, while battery longevity exceeded my expectations.

Despite chain vaping, I easily achieved a full day of use from a single charge. And topping up again took under an hour via rapid USB-C charging.

The miniscule size makes the GK3 perfect for slipping into a pocket and vaping on the go. Ergonomics seem carefully calculated as well—all controls sit naturally under thumb or finger.

Properly securing pods in place often proves an Achilles heel for pod mods. But the GK3’s powerful magnets lock pods firmly in the recess with no wiggle whatsoever. Passing the shake test with flying colors showcases the durability on offer.
