There's been a technological convergence happening in the world of disposable vapes. Most devices now offer similar flavors and have adopted USB-C rechargeable batteries. To stand out, manufacturers have added extra features like elaborate displays and multiple performance modes.
The Lost Mary MT15000 Turbo is one of the latest disposables trying to grab attention with high-quality flavors and an impressive spec sheet. Meanwhile, the Geek Bar Pulse established itself early as a pioneer by introducing the ballyhooed Pulse Mode and Smart LED screen.
As covered in our guide to performance boosted disposables, there are several hard-hitting models now that tout gigantic puff counts and various output modes. Many utilize airflow control as their secret weapon, like the renowned Raz TN9000 we’ve reviewed extensively.
At first glance, there’s not much separating these two contenders in terms of raw performance. Both contain 16mL of 5% nicotine salt e-liquid. Both harness dual mesh coils to supply a pair of vaping modes. The Lost Mary churns out 11W in Smooth Mode and 22W in Turbo Mode. Meanwhile, the Geek Bar Pulse rates 10W in Regular Mode and 20W in Pulse Mode.
Laid out clearly in table form, they match up very evenly on paper. But variables like airflow, coil builds, and e-liquid formulations still make a major impact. This explains why some disposables become wildly popular while others fade into obscurity, despite having identical flavor options.
Visually, the Lost Mary resembles a beefed up MO5000 with a mini screen akin to the RABBeats RC10000. The Geek Bar Pulse flaunts an enormous and radiant display. That part comes down to personal preference. So will the flavors, likely the deciding factor for most vapers. As illustrated above, there’s a ton of overlap. More detailed specs are below, followed by an in-depth exploration of the features.
As an early trailblazer for this new breed of vaporizer, we’ll scrutinize the Geek Bar Pulse first.
The massive animated screen grabs your attention instantly. While interesting, I don’t really see the function of showcasing a rocket ship. I also wonder about the odd Cancer Berry Bliss flavor – hopefully the accompanying constellation graphic adds necessary context. Visually though, the Pulse clearly outdazzles the understated Lost Mary.
Ergonomically, the Geek Bar hits all the right notes. The plastic exterior is smooth yet encases a sturdy interior frame. It’s not as pliant as the Pyne Pod Boost, where you can clench the entire device in your teeth to free up both hands. But it feels solid.
The dual coil engine drives performance. While Pulse Mode undoubtedly rips with authority, I prefer regular mode personally. Cranking out vapor from 5% nicotine salts risks becoming overbearing.
Surprisingly, the 10W default setting is no slouch. It conserves e-liquid and battery while generating dense, flavorful vapor even when levels run low. As Lost Mary attests, this first mode is engineered for consistent flavor as the charge fades. And 10W aligns with most disposables, so the draw doesn’t feel lacking whatsoever.
Toggling between modes uses a switch on the base. Cue the flashy rocket animation in Pulse Mode! This setting unleashes fierce power through an advanced pulsating firing method reminiscent of a high-end modbox.
While subjective traits like flavor and draw tightness are debatable, smaller displays simply make more sense for disposables in my opinion. Lost Mary's screen communicates everything essential without waste.
Inside, the MT15000 Turbo stocks dual cores and dual coils like the Geek Bar. This allows an extra 1W in Smooth Mode and 2W in Turbo Mode over the Pulse’s offerings.
These minute discrepancies come down to coil and chipset designs though, not meaningful separation in practice. The deliverable power levels likely fall within the same envelope given normal usage fluctuations.
No question, Turbo Mode packs a real punch atop Smooth Mode. Toggling this setting utterly transforms the vape’s personality. Smooth supplies a somewhat tighter MO5000 experience but with triple the staying power. Meanwhile, Turbo activation kicks the output into fierce MTL territory.
This is probably where most vapers will decide between the two. With few glaring weaknesses among standard flavors, advising someone based on mint or blue raspberry options proves challenging. Reviewers may fawn over “real fruit” accuracy, but blind taste testing would humble those notions quickly.
We’ve covered every flavor extensively before. Our initial Geek Bar Pulse review handles the core options. Another piece explored subsequent constellation-themed flavors. And a final article investigated another new batch.
Geek Bar Pulse Flavors
That's an extensive selection with some unique options not found elsewhere. Geek Bar has particularly embraced confection-infused “Pop” flavors based on classic gum-filled suckers. They’ve borrowed certain names dangerously close to trademarks too.
As hinted at earlier, many Geek Bar flavors utilize zodiac symbols. The reasoning there remains unclear—possibly tying into the broader space theme. In any case, choices like Gemini Grape Lemon and Leo Orange Cream taste great. Orange cream resembles the frozen dessert, blending velvety vanilla with sweet orange. A commendable honeydew melon earns the name Virgo Crazy Melon as well. Scorpio Blue Mint stands out too as a balanced blueberry mint.
Lost Mary MT15000 Turbo Flavors
It’s hard to find faults among these Lost Mary offerings either. While no revolutionary dessert profiles like Beard Vape, the flavors reliably satisfy.
None miss the mark, each conveying the labeled taste cleanly. No filler or chemicals linger. The Thermal Edition flavors react to temperature for an added dimension too.
This ends up extremely close, with negligible performance differences. Intangibles around draw style and interpretations of popular flavors serve as the main separators. I prefer the Lost Mary MT15000 Turbo for its versatility as both a hard hitter and efficient workhorse. The flavors are pristine across the board also.
But Geek Bar has some truly unique options without direct substitutes in Lost Mary’s stable. And the Pulse certainly brings more radical aesthetics for vapers craving a flashier experience. When it comes down to no-fuss satisfaction though, the intense power and smoothness of the Lost Mary MT15000 Turbo proves tough to top!
