Iowa Enforces Vape Product Registry as Court Lifts Stay
Iowa is proceeding with the implementation of its state vapor product directory following an appeals court decision that lifted a stay on House File 2677. The legislation requires all nicotine and vape products sold across the state to hold FDA authorization and appear on an official registry.
Under the active legal framework, any vapor product not listed in the state directory is illegal to distribute or sell. Retailers caught stocking unauthorized items face civil fines and potential criminal prosecution.
State officials schedule the publication of the first approved product list for October 15, with full penalty enforcement taking effect on November 16.
