Poland Senate Reviews Stricter Vape & Nicotine Pouch Law
The Polish Senate is set to review amendments to the “Tobacco Act” tomorrow, aiming to expand the ban on selling nicotine products to individuals under 18, regardless of nicotine content. The new regulations will cover all types of e-cigarettes (including nicotine-free ones), refill containers, and nicotine pouches.
The proposed changes also prohibit the sale of nicotine pouches to minors and restrict their sale in healthcare facilities, schools, educational institutions, sports and recreation facilities, vending machines, and self-service systems. Furthermore, the amendments introduce a ban on the distance selling (including online sales) and advertising of nicotine-free e-cigarettes and nicotine pouches.
Additionally, the use of e-cigarettes with nicotine-free liquid (producing nicotine-free vapor) will be prohibited in all public places where the use of nicotine-containing e-cigarettes is already banned. This includes locations such as schools, kindergartens, public transport stops, restaurants, and children’s playgrounds, significantly broadening public use restrictions.
