Italy Raises Prices on Rolling Tobacco, Heated Sticks, and Cigars

Italy’s Customs and Monopolies Agency (ADM) enacted price revisions across 28 tobacco products on October 14. Requested directly by manufacturers and importers between September 16 and September 30, the decree excludes traditional combustible cigarettes while raising costs for fine-cut rolling tobacco, heated tobacco sticks, and select cigars.

The measure does not stem from national excise tax hikes. Instead, ADM processed and approved price change requests submitted directly by the tobacco companies. Price movements generally average an increase of 20 cents, though variations range from a 10-cent rise to a two-euro drop.

Price Changes Across Rolling Tobacco, Sticks, and Cigars

Fine-cut tobacco sees price adjustments led by Pueblo. Standard 30-gram pouches of Pueblo Classic, Burley Blend, Blue, and Pink increase from €8.00 to €8.20. Golden Blend’s Virginia 30 and Virginia GT 30 reflect the same 20-cent jump. Larger 70-gram formats of Pueblo rise from €18.60 to €18.80, while 40-gram pouches of Manila and Golden Blend’s move to €10.90. The smallest adjustment applies to IGN Il Gusto Nostrano (30g), rising 10 cents to €8.00.

The largest single block of changes affects 15 heated tobacco consumables within the iD and iSENZIA lines, used in heated tobacco devices. Variants including iD Bronze, Blue, and Gold Tobacco, along with iSENZIA Ice Blue Crush and Summer Red Crush, now cost €4.00 per 20-stick pack, up from €3.80.

Cigar prices moved in opposite directions. The 15-pack of Attimi Toscano Extra Stagionato recorded the steepest increase, rising from €28.00 to €30.00. Conversely, the 9-pack of Verticale Toscano Extravecchio decreased from €17.00 to €15.00.
