Russia’s Vologda Region Bans Retail Vape Sales Starting March 2027
Deputies of the Vologda Oblast Legislative Assembly have passed legislation enforcing a total ban on the retail sale of vapes starting March 1, 2027. The measure, initiated by Governor Georgy Filimonov, targets electronic nicotine delivery systems, e-liquids, and related components.
Regional authorities have already eliminated all 316 dedicated vape shops across the territory under existing legal frameworks.
Governor Filimonov noted that Vologda is taking a leading role nationally on the issue following discussions with State Duma Chairman Vyacheslav Volodin:
“Vologda Oblast is among the first in the country to advocate for a complete ban on vape sales. On March 1, 2027, a full ban on the retail sale of electronic nicotine delivery systems, liquids for them, and their components will take effect.”
In addition to the vape ban, regional lawmakers introduced restrictions on traditional tobacco retailers, requiring stores selling nicotine products to maintain a minimum floor area of at least 10 square meters.
