Recent enforcement actions in Lao PDR have resulted in 288 online stores promoting and selling e-cigarettes being taken offline. These stores, primarily on Facebook and Instagram, had a collective membership of over 759,599. The takedowns were the result of joint action by the Lao Ministry of Health, with support from the World Health Organization (WHO) and Meta, the parent company of the social media platforms.
