North East Lincolnshire Launches Free 12-Week Vape Supply Program to Help Smokers Quit
Smokers in North East Lincolnshire looking to quit cigarettes can now access a free 12-week supply of vaping products through a newly launched service by the local council. The program aims to help residents “ditch the cigarettes” by providing a comprehensive support package that includes a free vape starter kit and e-liquids.
The initiative, delivered by North East Lincolnshire Council’s stop smoking service, combines the provision of vaping products with structured behavioral support. Participants will have weekly face-to-face check-ins with a wellbeing worker, who will use CO2 monitoring to help determine the appropriate strength of nicotine salt e-liquid required. The goal is to gradually reduce nicotine intake over the 12-week course. E-liquid supplies will be ordered fortnightly and delivered directly to the participant’s address.

In addition to the free vape supply, the service offers various other support options, including Nicotine Replacement Therapy (NRT) like patches and gum, and free premium access to the Smokefree app for tracking progress and staying motivated. The council highlights the significant health benefits of quitting, noting that blood circulation improves within 12 weeks and lung function gets better after nine months. Residents interested in the free program can self-refer through the council’s website or by contacting the wellbeing service directly.
