Pakistan Punjab Bans Smoking and Vaping in All Parks and Gardens
The government of Punjab, Pakistan, has banned smoking and vaping in all parks and gardens across the province, declaring them “no-smoking zones” to provide a healthier environment for citizens. According to a new notification, the sale and use of all cigarettes, e-cigarettes, vapes, and other tobacco products are now completely prohibited within these public spaces.
The sales ban extends to all tuck shops, cafes, and vending points located inside the parks. Authorities will install “No Smoking” signs and instructions, and park staff will continuously monitor for compliance. All Parks and Horticulture Authorities (PHAs) have been directed to ensure the full implementation of these rules within ten days. This action is enforced under the Prohibition of Smoking and Protection of Non-smokers Health Ordinance 2002.
