Russia Aims to Cut Tobacco Consumption by 14.4% by 2030
Russia plans to reduce per capita tobacco product consumption by 14.4% by 2030 as part of the federal project “Health for Everyone,” while also reducing alcohol consumption by 8.5%, according to Health Minister Mikhail Murashko’s statement in the State Duma.
“By 2030, the per capita consumption of products: minus 8.5% for alcohol, minus 14.4% for tobacco compared to 2023,” the presentation demonstrated by the head of the Ministry of Health at an extended meeting of the health protection committee states.
As noted in the presentation, the Ministry of Health expects to increase the share of citizens leading a healthy lifestyle by 1.5 times by 2030 compared to 2023.
