VOOPOO introduces the ARGUS E40, a new addition to their ‘ARGUS’ series of vapes, which stands out from its predecessors by using unique pods specifically designed for the device. The E40 caters primarily to direct-lung vapers, offering adjustable wattage from 5-40W, airflow adjustment, and an impressive 1800mAh battery with 2A fast charging support. The device comes with two pods featuring built-in, non-removable coils and also supports an empty cartridge compatible with all of VOOPOO’s PnP X coils, providing users with a wide range of options for a customizable vaping experience.
Design and Build Quality
The ARGUS E40 boasts a unique design that sets it apart from other VOOPOO devices, while still maintaining some familiar elements from the ARGUS series. The device features a tall rectangular shape, measuring 114mm tall, 31.2mm wide, and 22.6mm thick, making it notably larger and heavier than a typical pod vape. However, this increased size allows for the integration of a substantial 1800mAh battery, offering extended vaping sessions and competing with single and even dual battery mods in terms of battery life.
The E40’s body consists of a zinc alloy metal casing that covers the back and most of the sides, while a clear plastic casing makes up the entire front. The paint finish showcases excellent durability, withstanding minor drops and everyday wear and tear. The clear plastic casing on the front, however, may be prone to fingerprints and scuffs over time.

Filling the Argus E40 Pod
- Remove the pod from the mod.
- Lift the large silicone filling port cover located near the base of the pod.
- Insert your bottle nozzle into the revealed filling port and fill the pod with e-liquid.
- Let a fresh pod stand for at least five minutes before vaping to ensure proper cotton saturation in the coil.
The Argus E40 is compatible with e-liquids ranging from 50/50 VG/PG to 70/30 VG/PG, and both nicotine salt and freebase nicotine e-liquids work well with the device.
Operating the Device
- Turn the device on by clicking the power button five times.
- Enter the menu system by clicking the power button five times again. Three menu options will be available:
- “Puff clear” to reset the puff counter
- “Lock” to prevent the power button from firing the device (the device has auto-draw, so this can be disabled)
- “Power off” to turn the device off
- Adjust the wattage by clicking the power button three times and using the power button to increase the wattage in 1W increments (5-40W).

Performance
The VOOPOO ARGUS E40 delivers outstanding performance, particularly for direct-lung and restricted direct-lung vaping. Both the included 0.3Ω and 0.6Ω cartridges provide excellent flavor and vapor production, with the 0.3Ω cartridge offering a slightly airier draw. The adjustable airflow allows users to customize their vaping experience, ranging from a tight mouth-to-lung draw to a loose direct-lung draw.
The device’s flavor production is impressive, with both cartridges and the empty cartridge with a 0.6Ω PnP X coil delivering strong, smooth flavor. The vapor production is also noteworthy, especially considering the E40’s compact size compared to larger box mods.
While the ARGUS E40 can accommodate mouth-to-lung vaping with the airflow nearly closed or fully closed, it may not be the most suitable device for dedicated MTL vapers who prefer a more fine-tuned airflow adjustment. However, for direct-lung vapers who occasionally enjoy a mouth-to-lung draw, the E40 can still provide a satisfactory experience.
