Colombia Mandates Detailed Product Information for Vape Manufacturers and Suppliers

Colombia Vape Regulation

Colombia’s Superintendence of Industry and Commerce (SIC) has issued Resolution 30838 of 2025, regulating access to information for consumers of cigarettes, tobacco products, their derivatives, substitutes, or imitations, and the devices necessary for their operation, including vape products. Producers and suppliers will have a six-month period from its publication in the Official Gazette to comply before the new rules are enforced.

The SIC mandates that manufacturers and suppliers must provide consumers with clear, minimum information in Spanish regarding aspects such as product use, components, safety warnings, battery type, lifespan, warranty, and other relevant characteristics. This information must be available on labels, containers, packaging, or product annexes. For e-commerce sales, suppliers must ensure this information is clearly and accessibly provided before or during the purchase process.

The SIC clarified that this new regulation does not alter existing restrictions on advertising and promotion, nor does it interfere with technical or sanitary obligations overseen by other authorities like the Ministry of Health and Social Protection. The measure aims to ensure consumers are well-informed before making purchasing decisions.
