iJoy Bar IC8000 Review – A Premium Disposable Vape Option
Veteran vaping brand iJoy unveiled an innovative entry in the disposables category – the Bar IC8000 in 2022. This product piqued my interest as their first model with an integrated display screen tracking puff counts and battery level. Between the rechargeable 650 mAh battery, huge 18 mL juice capacity and mesh coils, it shows remarkable innovation packing such capabilities into a portable disposable form.
But does the IC8000’s increased sophistication translate into a superior vaping experience compared to standard disposables? Let’s dig into the details and find out!
Overview and Specifications
The iJoy Bar IC8000’s slim yet elongated box shape fits nicely into hands or pockets. Measuring 85mm x 47mm x 23mm, it resembles the previous iJoy Bar 600 with key upgrades under the hood.
Dual-tone casing comes in an array of colors and patterns covering the spectrum from subdued to dazzling. Despite the plastic build, solid manufacturing delivers a quality in-hand feel.

Design and Build Quality
The IC8000 borrows much of its aesthetic from earlier iJoy Bar disposables. Two differently colored or patterned plastic segments join diagonally across the rounded box shape.
On one face, an oval mouthpiece integrates into the flat section while the company logo imprints opposite paired with a small circular monochrome display. This mini-screen sets it apart, tracking remaining puffs and battery.
Textured matte or soft touch finishes coat parts of certain units, but shiny backings dominate most. Along the bottom rim, a Type-C port enables recharging the internal cell.
Without adjustable airflow, the draw seems well tuned for a restricted direct lung or loose mouth-to-lung inhale. The plastic mouthpiece also provides a comfortable vaping experience.
While charging is reasonably quick at one hour, the device lacks pass-through capabilities so sessions get interrupted without a spare on hand. But overall construction impresses considering its budget disposable classification.
Features and Screen
On paper, the IC8000 looks focused on maximizing duration between tossing thanks to generous ejuice storage and a USB-rechargeable battery. iJoy rates it capable of an impressive 8000 puffs per charge/fill cycle.
The proprietary 1.1Ω mesh coil optimizes flavor intensity too, while the 50mg (5%) nicotine blend aims satisfying habitual smokers. More variance in strengths would suit wider user preferences however.
But the defining highlight remains the unique integrated display. When firing, it alternates between showing remaining:
- Puff count percentage (starting at 100, decreasing by 5s)
- Battery level percentage (also starting at 100, decreasing by 5s)
I hoped puff counts showed absolute values rather than percentages, but it still assists gauging lifespan better than guessing. Another handy touch is the automatic draw activation, avoiding clicking buttons to vape.
How Does the iJoy Bar IC8000 Perform?
Considering its diminutive size and limited airflow, the IC8000 generates impressively dense, warm vapor. While the draw remains on the tighter end, it allows both MTL and restricted DTL styles depending on inhale intensity.
Of course flavor takes precedence over cloud size here. I found the proprietary mesh coils and formula nic salts combined into pure, accurate reproductions true to descriptions. Vaping the Guava Kiwi Passion Fruit felt transportive with beautifully captured exotic vibrancy.
Longevity also reached estimated targets, still going strong after hundreds of puffs without noticeable degradation halfway through the 8000 count quota. Only around the 50% displayed charge level does the draw weaken appreciably as voltage dwindles.
Given the 50mg nic concentration, I anticipated more throat impact. Instead, a very smooth vape all around despite higher levels that some devices would make harsh. Clearly iJoy perfected the nic salt formula and vapor tuning.
iJoy Bar IC8000 Flavors
The iJoy Bar IC8000 disposable vape comes prefilled with nicotine salt e-liquid in 16 tempting flavors. Ranging from fruity to dessert and even beverages, the diverse menu suits most vapers. These flavors are:
- Apple Juice
- Black Dragon Ice
- Blue Razz Ice
- Blueberry Watermelon
- Cherry Cola
- Clear
- Guava Kiwi Passion Fruit
- Mint
- Mint Candy
- Peach Blueberry
- Peach Lemon
- Strawberry Kiwi
- Strawberry Mango
- Triple Berry
- Watermelon Ice
- White Gummy
Below are my tasting notes on each along with general impressions. Do keep subjective perceptions in mind as your mileage may vary!
Apple Juice
I hoped this would capture fresh-pressed apples but instead found extremely tart, bitter green apple candy flavor dominating. While not unpleasant, “Sour Green Apple” fits better than Apple Juice considering most bottled varieties use sweeter blends like Fuji, Gala or Red Delicious instead of Granny Smiths.
Black Dragon Ice
Billowing clouds bursting with sweet, juicy blackberry and strawberry hit the palette before fainter yet still detectable dragonfruit on the undertones. Well balanced allowing the mixed berries taking center stage.
Fantastic if you enjoy berry medleys. Vibrant from first inhale through the lingering aftertaste. Easily an adv contender for me!
Guava Kiwi Passionfruit
Prepare your taste buds for an explosion of blended exotic fruits! Guava, Kiwi and Passionfruit swirl together into a harmonious tropical medley. Hints of sweetness accent the tartness upon exhale.
While authentic to the real fruits, the ripeness levels felt slightly elevated. Not in a candied way but bringing out maximal juicy vibrancy. Top marks replicating such a complex flavor mixture so accurately.
Strawberry Mango
I traditionally dislike mango vapes tasting overly perfumed. But here the ripe aromatic mango perfectly balances the sweet strawberry almost like a mixed fruit purée. Clean, not overly sweet finish with one fruit never overpowering the other.
While disposables often utilize premade concentrate formulas from vendors, iJoy went more custom developing its IC8000 editions. Flavor quality stands significantly above average kits I’ve tested.
That said, with so many variants I still gravitated towards fruit and drink types while avoiding certain flavors outside personal preferences like plain Mints. Of the five I sampled, all delivered wonderfully accurate representations tasting almost indistinguishable from the real thing. Truly impressive!
Bottom Line
Having tested possibly hundreds of devices over my decade-long vaping hobby, few manage impressing as thoroughly as the iJoy Bar IC8000. It just hits all the right notes between convenient size, long 8000 puff lifespan per charge cycle, spot-on flavors and uniquely informative display.
Factor in the rechargeable battery and huge 18mL juice capacity at an affordable price point and you have a new category leader for disposables. This one confounds thinking such compact designs cannot match reusable setups on performance.
I struggle finding negatives beyond wanting adjustable airflow and slightly faster charging. Regardless, iJoy’s innovative IC8000 disposable vape sets a lofty benchmark pushing major upgrades over standard single-use devices.
