Singapore Seizes 1,500+ Vapes in 4 Days Amid Crackdown
Singapore’s Immigration and Checkpoints Authority (ICA) detected and seized over 1,500 e-vaporizers and related components between September 1st and 4th as part of its continued enhanced checks at all air, land, and sea checkpoints. This follows the seizure of over 850 vape products in late August.
During this four-day period, the ICA recorded 123 cases of travelers with vapes, including those who voluntarily disposed of their devices in designated checkpoint bins. Approximately 70% of these cases involved short-term visitors, while the remaining 30% were Singapore residents.
The ICA emphasized that vaping is illegal in Singapore and that all foreigners must abide by the country’s laws. As of September 1, 2025, individuals caught possessing, using, or importing e-vaporizers face increased fines of S$500 for those under 18 and S$700 for adults. Long-term pass holders who commit a third offense may have their passes revoked, face deportation, and be banned from re-entering Singapore. Those caught with “Kpods” (vapes containing etomidate) will also be sent for mandatory rehabilitation.
