Kyrgyzstan Raises Minimum Prices for Vape and Tobacco Cigarettes
The Ministry of Economy in Kyrgyzstan has published a resolution by the Cabinet of Ministers for public discussion, which aims to increase the minimum wholesale and retail prices for tobacco and nicotine-containing products from January 1, 2025. The department states that this step will increase the revenues of the republican budget and reduce the consumption of unhealthy products among citizens, ultimately improving public health.
The resolution introduces minimum prices for four categories of tobacco and nicotine-containing products:
- Cigarettes with and without filters, as well as cigarillos: from 110 soms for 20 pieces
- Products with heated tobacco: from 110 soms for 20 sticks or capsules
- Disposable electronic nicotine delivery systems: from 350 soms per unit
- Electronic cigarettes and similar devices: from 1.5 thousand soms per unit
