Mississippi’s Vape Sales Law on Unauthorized Vape Products Takes Effect
A new law restricting the sale of vaping products has gone into effect in Mississippi today. The legislation mandates that only e-cigarette products that have received marketing authorization from the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) can be legally sold within the state.
Retailers have been granted a 60-day grace period to sell through or remove any existing inventory that does not comply with this new requirement. After this period concludes, businesses found selling unauthorized vape products will face significant penalties, which could include fines, seizure of non-compliant products, and the potential loss of their retail license.
State officials have indicated that the law is designed to tighten the regulation of the vaping market and align Mississippi’s state-level rules with federal standards, ensuring that only products that have undergone the FDA’s premarket review process are available to consumers.
