Are Parks and Bus Stops Smoke-Free Zones?

According to Ukrainian Law No. 1978-IX, public transport stops and their immediate surrounding areas are strictly smoke-free zones. However, when it comes to parks, there are specific legal nuances to keep in mind.

National regulations explicitly ban smoking within parks, botanical gardens, historical-cultural reserves, and public playgrounds. Furthermore, local municipal authorities possess the legal right to expand these boundaries, declaring additional community spaces entirely smoke-free.

The complete list of prohibited public spaces includes:

Elevators, apartment building entryways (lobbies), and public payphones.
Healthcare facilities, schools, universities, and sports complexes.
